A Letter to Cello Teachers:

Dear colleagues and friends,

In 2022 I retired from my position of 32 years as Cello Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and 52 years in total of teaching cello (in Israel, the US, and elsewhere). Since then, I have taken my time to explore new experiences, such as walking two different tracks of the Camino de Santiago (the Portuguese one from Porto, and the Camino Primitivo from Oviedo). These have given me new perspectives and a deeper understanding of the art of learning and teaching. I intentionally put aside playing my cello, teaching, and was waiting for the cello to call me back. Now, with a fresh look and great motivation, I would like to share with your students my refreshed ideas regarding self-awareness in the service of better music-making, more efficient use of our main instrument (our body), and finding our true, unique voice. Please let me know if you are interested in inviting me to share my experience and new ideas with your students.

These are truly extremely challenging times around the world, and I would be delighted to focus on the positive aspects of communal sharing.
